A LITTLE TOUR OF THE STUDIO - Gooseberry Studios

In January Gooseberry moved into its new home — a beautiful sun-drenched space in Toronto. Today we’re absolutely delighted to say that the decorating is done, we’re all settled in and ready to show you all the details if you’re interested! Keep reading for the full Toronto photography studio tour! {please note, we have moved spaces}Always a complete sucker for an amazing statement wall, we installed a gorgeous black and white mural to reflect Gooseberry’s philosophy of true creativity being wild, imperfect, wonderfully messy and free. We’re not about perfection here. In fact we despise the concept of perfection through and through, making this scrawling mural a fantastic metaphorical path to our hearts!
We custom built large industrial clothing racks to house our coveted styling supplies. As a full service in-house photography and branding studio, Gooseberry offers professional styling options for all of our shoots, making a safe, solid and secure space to house designer clothes and one-of-a-kind finds a total must.
We painted the studio door a vibrant pink, because who doesn’t adore a pop of colour? Colour theory is something we incorporate throughout all of our photography, branding and design projects. It’s absolutely incredible how certain shades and hues have the power to transform your mood. For the Gooseberry team a dollop of joyful pink was a no-brainer and sprucing up a door is a great way to get creative with an interior space.
A modest coffee and tea station is quietly watched over by a cheeky umbrella tree, adding a little pep to our stride on any given day. Every Gooseberry meeting is accompanied by a soothing hot beverage and delicious cookies, because why not? We chat through all the details of your project in our elegant meeting space. Decked out with a grey leather couch, a rotating collection of coffee table books to pour over for inspiration and an adorable gallery wall showcasing Gooseberry Prints, brainstorming never looked or felt so good!
Next up, our immaculate shooting bay! Painted in brilliant white and adorned by a huge wall of windows for delicious, creamy light on even cloudy days, the shooting bay is where the magic happens! This is where we build custom sets, shoot portraits, personal branding shoots, imaginative commercial concepts, edgy fashion editorials, bubbly lifestyle moments and so much more! The incredible light is what really makes the studio striking — we’re obsessed, completely, utterly, blissfully obsessed!
Of course we have a handy meeting table too, ideal for projects that need all the computers, notebooks, mood boards and the works! To help keep a calm mood amidst the creative chaos that can ensue in the studio, we have a pretty diffuser and wide selection of essential oils that we can turn on at a moments notice! And of course, the entire studio is peppered with plant friends for added warm and beauty.
And finally, no Gooseberry office would be complete without our faithful canine sidekicks, quirky decor elements and little pops of humour throughout! Welcome to our new downtown Toronto studio! {please note that we have since moved spaces and this space is no longer available for shoots}
